A Water Works Winter Wedding

Miki & Jeff | February 15th, 2020

My first wedding of 2020 couldn't have gone any better! Miki & Jeff are the sweetest people and so relaxed, as was their wedding day! They got married at The Water Works by Cescaphe last Saturday, on a sunny winter day.

It was such an honor to photograph this wedding, and gift them with amazing memories they will cherish forever! When Miki told me her and Jeff have two cats, love wine and amazon, it was a no brainer that we were meant to be a great fit!

Miki & Jeff always loved the look of the Water Works with its classic decor and historical significance to the city of Philadelphia. Additionally, you cannot beat the views of the river, boathouse row, the Art Museum, and the magnificent skyline. The juxtaposition of the old and new is incomparable. It was always their first choice and they're so happy they were able to have both the ceremony and reception there.

This is one of three weddings I have this year that do not have a bridal party, and I must say, I do like it! The day was so relaxed, and everything flowed together so seamlessly! It was a day just for Miki & Jeff and all their loved ones!

Miki & Jeff, I am so so glad our paths crossed, and I am just beyond happy for you both! Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Pozzuolo!!

A Note From The Bride:

"AMAZING experience!!!!! We specifically sought Emily out because she had beautifully photographed the Water Works before. Additionally: (1) I didn't have bridesmaids and so Emily basically served as my maid of honor...from fixing my dress, helping with my veil, carrying my things, and making sure I was okay. She had extra bobby pins in her hair as back-up for me! This is above & beyond what any photographer would do. It's like she has 10 arms combined with a wealth of experience & know-how :) (2) Secondly, Emily is very skilled in giving positive reinforcement, considering a lot of us had no idea how to be photographed. It calmed everyone's nerves considerably, and we were all joking around & having fun together. (3) Thirdly, Emily is also very gifted in giving good directions. You'd be surprised at how others can be confusing, impatient, terse, etc. We knew exactly what to do (even with some champagne in our tummies...) with how Emily told us to pose, look at the lens, etc. (4) Beyond the photography magic, Emily is very organized. We received thorough details of our wedding day timeline, in addition to what to expect before, during, and after the wedding (all accompanied with PDF tips, how tos, what to pack, etc.). As a Type-A personality, this also calmed my anxiety with how well Emily can project manage & openly communicate with us." - Miki Pozzuolo
